About me

I’m passionate about giving people confidence in their own garden and helping them to discover and nurture an enthusiasm for plants. As such I work as a ‘co-gardener’, working alongside people to help them tackle their gardens, prune, divide, replant and so on. I also offer consultation visits to work through a plan of action for a garden with follow up notes and suggestions, as well as planting design and plant sourcing. If you're in need of friendly, practical help and encouragement (and live within an hour’s drive of Liphook GU30) then please do get in touch.

For 12 years I trod the boards as a soprano, travelling constantly, and was lucky enough to perform in some wonderful places from Glyndebourne to the Lincoln Centre, the Opera Bastille to South Korea. In 2020 I swapped concert dresses for muddy boots and retrained in gardening and garden design.

I trained in Garden Design at the English Gardening School based at the Chelsea Physic Garden. I went on to win both the Judges Choice and People’s Choice Award in my first show border at the Belvoir Castle Flower Show sponsored by the London College of Garden Design. I have an RHS Levels 2 and 3 diploma and continue to take every opportunity to learn about plants, to satisfy my own curiosity as well as to better help my clients.

I share the creation of my own garden over on Instagram @katy_in_the_garden and was shortlisted as Garden Influencer of the Year at the 2025 GMG Awards. I have also presented from my own garden on Alan Titchmarsh’s Gardening Club on ITV. I love to write about the joys and woes of gardening and have written for the Telegraph and Garden Answers magazine. My blog won ‘Gardening Blog of the Year’ in the 2020 GMG Awards.
